Time waits for no one. In fact, there is a common saying “time flies”. Some may even call this a cliché. But that fact of the matter is that this is the ultimate truth. We need to seize the day, and make the most of the present. Our time on earth is precious and we should be grateful for it and enjoy it to the fullest.

Don’t live in the past

If you want to build a time machine and take a spin down memory lane, that’s okay on occasion. However, that is hardly the way to spend a major part of your life.

There is a reason why people call it the past. It is because whatever has happened, is already over. It is a done deal. Probably set in stone, etched in memories, etc.

But that is hardly an excuse to keep thinking about it. We cannot dwell on the past. That is not what the past is for. Instead, the past can lend us a helping hand.

Chained to the past

It is not a good idea to dwell on the past. But it might be a good idea to sometimes reflect on past actions. This way we are not stuck to or chained to the past and our past misgivings and deeds. Instead, we get to learn from our mistakes, improve ourselves wherever we lack, get rid of our shortcomings and become better versions of ourselves.

The past is a handy checklist of not only all the things that we did right, but also a handy checklist of the numerous counts where we may have been wrong. Thus we can use it to our deepest and greatest advantage. We can cultivate and nurture our skills. And we can make sure we do not commit the same mistakes. This is a brilliant philosophy to move on with our lives.

The world is our oyster

We need to be really confident of ourselves and in our abilities. We need to make new projects, explore new avenues and do new things. We should not be afraid to test our boundaries. It will always be a learning experience which can only be helpful in the long run.

We can do anything we want to with our lives. We just need to find the zeal and the passion for it. If we are truly interested and passionate about something, then no one can stop us from achieving greatness in that field.

However, we need to make sure we choose the correct path for ourselves and not give in to peer pressure. If you are comfortable being mainstream, be so with a vengeance. Otherwise, have the guts to strike out on your own.

We cannot be afraid of failure. It is all a part of the learning curve. Thus, we just need to think about the future, think about what we want, and go out and get it.
