Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.

– Albert Einstein

It is easy to get stuck in a problem and stay there. A particularly difficult situation can be like quicksand, the more you fight to get our, the deeper you sink. But even quicksand can be overcome if one uses the right tactic to find a way out of it. Similarly, each difficult situation you might be stuck in has a way out. It might be in the form of a solution or an opportunity to make a change.

While faced with any problem, the most important thing is to believe in yourself, to believe that you can face it and find a solution for it. Believe in the fact that there is always a solution to each problem. In fact, there might even be multiple solutions. It is important to have faith in yourself before you start looking for opportunities to help you free yourself of the problem. It is important to believe that you can do it, that you can get out of the adverse situation you are currently stuck in.

Ask yourself this, what do you really want? Once you start focusing, you will realize that you are surrounded by opportunities. All it takes is a little focus and a little introspection before you realize that even in the most difficult of times, one is surrounded by countless opportunities. And opportunity does not come knocking; you have to go looking if you want to make a difference and change.

Whether you are looking for an opportunity or not, it is important to stay positive in the face of adversity. Positivity is what will help you get through the most difficult of times. Even nightfall brings with it the opportunity to study the stars. Similarly, a problem will bring with itself the opportunity to find some light. Stay positive because something good is definitely in store for you. The power of positivity is unparalleled. When you think positively, things around you become more positive and you will find a way to make things better, and find opportunities where previously there did not exist any.

Faced with a difficult situation, we are often unable to decide what to do. At those moments, it is prudent to take a step or two back, and evaluate where you are and where you want to be. Evaluate the situation, the problem and the opportunities available to you. That is how you will realize that there is opportunity even in the middle of the most difficult times.

The opportunity for change lies in the problem. The opportunity for new things and new decisions lies in the middle of a difficult situation. Everything might not be crystal clear form the word go. The opportunities might also not be very obvious, but that is only because you are not looking hard enough. There is an old saying, “There are no problems, only opportunities.” It is of course hard to believe in that saying, especially when you are surrounded by a particularly difficult situation. But when you follow the four steps mentioned above, you will find the best opportunities in the murkiest of problems.
